Winter Colors

Wow, is it Wednesday already?  This week is racing by just like this month has- even though it is a leap year!!  As wonderful, weird, and wacky as this winter weather has been these past few months, I have really enjoyed putting together outfits that are layered, with no necessity to layer on top of layer on top of layer!  Today, I am happy to share with you a few color collections of winter outfits I have enjoyed wearing and sharing with you over the past few months!

Happy Leap Year Day to you!

Academy Favorites

I missed watching the Oscars this last weekend (and actually didn't feel like I missed the show because I basically haven't seen many of the movies that were included in that event), but I have really enjoyed catching up on the fashion, beauty, and accessories that were on display that day. A few of my favorites are pictured below- what were your favorites?

Envelope please...

< Viola for best dress >

< Natalie for best combination- dots and sparkles! >

Wonders from the weekend

Happy Monday, 3P wonderfuls! Hope you all enjoyed a great weekend! Mine was pretty much as good as it gets because my sweet grandma is home safe and sound after a successful surgery, there was beautiful weather to enjoy each day, and one of my best friends and I finally caught up, dined like ladies who lunch, and ran a good distance in preparation for our upcoming race. It's going to be a busy week, but I will try to keep posting as usual- especially because there is a fun upcoming milestone for this blog!

Whatever you have going on this week, stay strong and make it a great one!

4 (x2) Pins for Friday

TGIF and happy Friday, 3P peeps!  The sun has been shinning brightly lately, and this has really cheered my week up- plus, I have worn a few stripes (my new favorite) here and there in outfits, which makes me feel confident and proud.  In order to leave this week's post on a high note, I am happily sharing some Pins I found which encourage my growing love of happy stripes.  Hopefully some of these will provide you with some cheery inspiration.

Have a wonderful weekend, and catch you back here on Monday!

Painted Masterpieces

< From let to right: OPI Servin' Up Sparkle, A Oui Bit of Red, & Cozu-melted in the Sun, Essie Golden Nuggets, Love & Beauty Green, Essie Beach Bum Blue, OPI Grape...Set...Match and Flashbulb Fuschia >

I appreciate having a great selection of nail polishes (as seen here), and love how the polish colors can inspire an outfit and easily add more color to everyday life.  I have selected a few of my current favorite polishes in a rainbow of colors to use as inspiration for choosing art, and am happy to share my pairings with you today!  One of these days, I would love to own at least two of these artistic creations for the walls of my house.  Tell me, what inspires you to choose a nail polish color?  An outfit? A piece of art?

Wonders from the weekend

< Beautiful Tahoe >

Ahh, the beginning of a short work week- what a wonderful feeling!  I enjoyed a refreshing and fun weekend up in Tahoe with a great group of friends- we laughed, we took in the beauty of what little snow there was on the ground, we enjoyed delicious meal after delicious meal, we soaked in the hot tub, and reveled in traditional cabin activities such as lively games of Catchphrase and awesome karaoke performances.  All in all, this weekend could not have been more full of great memories.  Plus, the extra day off allowed for some much needed relaxation time, and more laughter with good friends.  These next few weeks are going to be busy ones, so I am very thankful for the R&R that I was able to enjoy these past few days.  Whatever you are facing in the coming week- stay strong, and make it a great one! (That's my plan too!)

< Ideal cabin goodness- turkey chili and a mimosa (okay, maybe a slightly strange combination, but both delicious nonetheless) >

Happy President's Day!

Hope you have enjoyed a great weekend! So thankful that our country has the opportunity to honor those who have gone before us to serve as President and lead our nation. Whether your weekend is a little longer or was just two days as usual, I hope good times were had by all in celebration of President's Day!

Obsessed: Stalking NYFW

TGIF, all you wonderful 3P pretties!  What a week this has been- I couldn't be more excited for the upcoming holiday weekend!  While I did not travel anywhere out of town this week, I pretty much dreamt of being in New York everyday- obsessed about, actually.  As I am sure you have heard, New York Fashion week has just wrapped (and I am so inspired for fall fashion now!).  Thanks to many of my favorite bloggers, I was able to enjoy backstage shots and dramatic runway looks even though I was still on the west coast for every day of NYFW.  Someday, I too will be in NYC for fashion week. but in the meantime I am happy to share some of my favorite shots from this past fashion-mania week.

Have an amazing day and an even better weekend!

A Peek

< A small dress form holds floppy hats, and little decor pieces add parisian flair to the top of a shelf in my closet >

Drumroll please... the 3P closet!  Those of you who have been following my blog know that I have lately been working on organizing my clothes, and although not all of the organization is not totally complete, I am happy to give you a peek into my wardrobe storage.  So here you have it- the costumery collection of this fashion obsessed, if-the-shoe-fits-I-have-to-have-it, organizationally impassioned, get-that-outfit-on-and-get-out-the-door blogger!

PS- click to see how I organize my vanity and store my jewelry

< I recently incorporated slim velvety hangers into my closet and am loving them!  Their skinny profile does help save room on a clothing rack- however, the bulkiness of winter faux furs and heavy knits sometimes negates their purpose.  Oh well!  My shirts are organized first by color, then by sleeve length- so, for any given color section seen above, the sleeveless shirts are located on the left, and the longest sleeved shirts are located on the right. >

< Folding shelves have helped make use of the empty height space in my closet.  Now, dark colored skirts (and some hats) rest below a shelf that holds my boots and some other bins. >

< Jeans are stacked by color- light in one pile and dark in another.  An awkward corner of the closet holds less-worn pairs such as work jeans.  A DIY collage hangs above this space to add a little more ooh-la-la-a-la-mode. >

< Sweaters are stored in my closet during the winter, and stowed away during the hot summer months. Here again, these handy folding shelves have helped provide order and maximize space in my closet area.  Since I am trying to keep my sweaters in shape, I now have a place for them to be stored once they are nicely folded.  Keeping like-colors grouped together makes locating a specific sweater a cinch. >

< Dresses and skirts hang along one wall of my closet.  Can you tell that I am a color-grouping groupie?  Well after these pictures, there should be little doubt! >

< Shoes I wear most often have front-and-center space on my shoe racks.  I  still have more shoe storage to get in to place, and I will happily share that with you after I am finished jumping up and down with joy when I actually do have a place for every shoe. >

< Purses are placed on a shelf unit, and storage boxes rest below.  One of the boxes holds supplies for a "fashion emergency kit."  A portable steamer, a deodorant sponge, scissors, fashion tape, a box for corralling knick- knacks, bottles of wrinkle-releaser and anti-static spray, a jar for buttons, and a leather  punch make pretty much any fashion situation in my closet doable. >

< Short necklaces and a few hats also rest on a shelf- this standing rack has been the most convenient method for storing necklaces! >
