I love to make the decorations in my home flow together, but this guest room definitely has a more defined personality that any other room in the house- and how can you go wrong with an aesthetic inspired by Paris? In this second guest bedroom in our house, the blue-gray of the walls compliments the satiny bed coverlet, and the black furniture provides a nice bold contrast. A queen bed frame (purchased from Ikea) with a vintage feel supports a comfortable mattress that visitors can rest upon. Bedside tables support decorations related to the French city theme, and serve as a handy landing spot for guest's belongings. Sunshine streams through a window and graces art and mirrors decorating the walls. A miniature replica of the Eiffel Tower adds a touch of whimsy. While there is no dresser in this room to allow for the unpacking of suitcases, guests have plenty of space to stow items and a cozy, inviting room to relax in during a visit.
This framed artwork hangs by the door to this room, welcoming guests inside.
A mirrored tray, blue silk flowers, and black accents decorate a vintage desk serving as a bedside table. The lamp provides handy nighttime reading light, and the clock also serves as an alarm when needed.
A collection of small mirrors acquired over time hang above a bedside table. The mirrors provide an interesting focal point when reflecting sunlight in the room.
A small replica of the Eiffel Tower adds the perfect presence of Paris. The 'Do Not Disturb' sign adds an amusing touch to this guest room.
A thin vertical shelf (which formerly served as a bridge shelf between two desk towers) is the perfect size for a corner space. A coatrack provides handy hanging space.
Some extra office supplies sit on a shelf in the above unit, and are available to guests as needed.
More blue flowers decorate a silk arrangement sitting on the other side of the bed. Tissue is an item found in every room of our house, and this room is no exception.
Plenty of pillows with different levels of firmness are stowed right on this guest bed. Decorative pillows are updated as the seasons change.
